Turkey Thursday

The Elves at the North Pole are Thankful
every day of the year. We love our  homes, the workshops,
and our jobs. We would not trade for anything.
On the 4th Thursday of November ,the day you
call thanksgiving, we have Turkey Day..The
start of the Christmas Holiday season..We
have the day off to play and sing and eat, and we love
to eat alot .Mrs Santa and the kitchen elves add
some holiday magic into the dressing when
they put it in the turkey. It is a extra measure
of happiness and health and gives us  the ability to think fast
on our feet. We will be extra busy for the next
few weeks and the magic helps us enjoy
every minute of it.

Cooking on Thanksgiving Day

Our method should help you to produce a truly tasty turkey with especially succulent breast meat.
If your turkey is trussed, it is best to remove the string before cooking.

If you wish to stuff your turkey, prepare your favourite stuffing recipe and fill the cavities .
You may like to put a large Bramley apples or peeled onion around the body.

Sprinkle the bird with salt and pepper then place it breast side down
(covered with foil if you prefer) in a roasting tin.

The oven should be pre-heated to 230° / 450°f/  and the
bird cooked at this temperature for 30 to 60 minutes depending on size,
before reducing the heat to 190°C / 375°F/
. About 30 minutes before the end of cooking open the foil if used and turn the bird onto its back to brown the breast.

Do try to avoid over-cooking. Test with a fork on the inside of the thigh – the bird is ready when the juices run clear.

After cooking, allow the turkey to rest for about 15 to 20 minutes, and then carve.

How much per person;
Whole Bird ....  (1lb) per elf

It takes 112 big turkeys to make sure  there is enough for Turkey day at  the North Pole.

This  is  only a guide, depending on how much you require for leftovers .
We never have leftovers...We eat every single, lovely bite on Turkey day.

What do we eat with it you ask?

Dressing, the cornbread kind
 Mountains ofMashed potato's
Gallons of turkey gravy
Sweet and spicy candied Yams
cranberry sauce, a can per elf
Pumpkin Pie
Coconut Pie
Coconut Cake
Cookies, Cookies, Cookies

If your over 100 you are allowed to have a glass of grape wine.
Younger than 100 you have  reindeer milk.

I wish you could see Santa. He sits at the head of the big table. Santa loves Turkey day.
He can eat more than anyone else.
