Christmas Wreaths
Our Christmas wreaths
Are fat and round
Made of woodsy things
We found.
We tied brown cones
Upon the green
And stuck red berries
In between.
Upon the wreath
For our front door
We tied red ribbon from a store.
Do you want to know how we have
the
most fun celebrating wreath wednesday?
We play a wreath game. I'll tell
you how
we play. Maybe you can play it
too.
Wreath Toss
Suspend a large Christmas wreath
in a doorway
at a convenient height from the
floor.
We have to hang ours pretty low.
Prepare in advance "snowballs,"
We use marshmallows, of course.
But you can
use cotton balls or crumpled tissue
paper balls.
The players stand about eight feet
from the wreath,
and take turns, one at a time.
Each is given three "snowballs,"
and the one who succeeds in throwing
all three,
on their turn, through the wreath,
is given the prize.
(The best wreath prizes
are decorated
christmas cookies)
We make it much more exciting,
an choose sides,
and each one of the three snowballs
numbered,
one being 5, the other, 10, and
the third, 20.
If the ball numbered 5 goes through,
it counts 5 for that player's side.
If it does not go through, it is
a loss, and so on.
The side scoring the most points
wins.
That means more cookies...Mrs Santa
even makes wreath shape cookies
for
special game prizes on wreath day!
We love to make wreaths. We put them everywhere.
When we play outdoors we use real snowballs to play
wreath toss.
My Friends, The Elves
I believe in Christmas elves
Those helpers who are near
Exactly when they're needed
most,
Then seem to disappear.
I know them when I see them
Whatever their disguise
They're patient and encouraging
Resourceful, kind, and wise
Yes, I believe in Christmas
elves
The kind that Santa sends
And I'm surrounded every day
By elves that I call friends.
Santa gave me someone special,
a magic elf, thats you.
The thing I like the most
is that
you believe in me ,too.
Did I ever tell you How much we love kitty cats?
We do, we do! We have a lot of them at the
North Pole. They have important jobs
like licking up milk spills, keeping the mice
company and purring us to sleep. We
have some who do special jobs.
